We welcome Sven-Eric Nilsson from KlubbIndiean - Gothenburg, SWE, finest Indiepop, Punk and Soul club - to the last So Tough! So Cute! in London for 2011. We’ll finish this season of with a perfectly rounded and slightly smokey blend of the best and most stomping and pogo inducing songs.

Sven-Eric, together with his partner in crime Ola, has run KlubbIndiean for over three years with their eclectic and uncompromising c86, soul, ska, punk and indie vinyl collections and we’re very happy to have him come visit us in Stokey.

We take our dance lessons from John Peel, Calvin Johnson, Ronnie Spector, Kathleen Hanna and Jonathan Richman. And so should you.

NME described them as “tribal elecro, like a South London Gang Gang Dance”..

In April 2011, the band made the finals of Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition and were awarded a slot on the John Peel Stage at the festival.

In August 2011 the band released their third single, Endless Summer through their own Snakes & Ladders label. The single was playlisted by BBC 6 Music and Xfm and was described by Drowned In Sound as “shimmery post-punk…the guitar lines dangle like silver filigree chains” 

They are currently recording their debut album, due for release Spring 2012.

LIME HEADED DOG

Lime Headed Dog are probably the most genuinely experimental “pop” band in London. Not in an avant, musique concrete, sound art way, but in an imaginative, dream like, collage way. Their video’s are as “Lime Headed Dog” as their music, full of humor and bursting with creativity. Having upset a journalist at Loud and Quiet with their new album, the band have also won many plaudits from the likes of Marc Riley at 6 music.

They have recently done an amazing Tom Vek remix, and their new album can be heard on the bands bandcamp….
